Mid Ulster Branch visit to the Ulster Aviation Society Museum
at The Maze, County Antrim on Saturday 16th July 2016
Nine members visited the Ulster Aviation Society Museum, they were warmly welcomed by Ernie Cromie MBE and Ken Corbett from the Society.
We were given a fairly in depth tour of the varied aircraft collection which has grown since the NMBVA last visited and now is housed within two hangars.
In addition to the excellent aircraft collection, some of which are still being restored by a dedicated team of volunteers, there were displays of other aviation artefacts, technical equipment, mapping, navigation radar, radio and others of historical interest.
The morning was most worthwhile, with much to interest visitors, especially being guided throughout by our highly knowledgeable hosts, who even supplied a good brew up for us.
